Melanie wanted to go shopping for a new back pack and umbrella for school. She had brought her own money.
I suggested that we go to Izzy's for dinner and then go to the Wal-Mart that was just across the s treet.
Melanie was at first a little shy about taking too much food but soon she got the right attitude.
As she became full there was time to make this food art from the cinnamon roll. She said it was delicious but not as good as the ones her Daddy makes.
A trip to the ice cream sundae bar topped off the meal. Here you see vanilla soft serve. Chocolate syrup on one side and strawberry syrup on the other. The whole thing was amply covered in candy sprinkles.
I was surprised that she was able to eat so much of it.
You can see by the expression that she is quite full.
She wanted to spend her money on one of those claw type vending machines but when we explained that she would probably get nothing for her money she opted to go to a smaller machine that promised candy for every player.
She put her quarter in - - and nothing happened.
The man came over and gave her back her quarter. She thanked him and put the quarter in her purse and we left.
I snapped this just before we headed for the Wal-Mart.
Given too many good choices, Lori was never able to make a quick decision.
It is almost painful to watch.
The process started all over again and she found one with flowers and an attached purse which she ultimately bought.
She found a red umbrella which fit perfectly into the back pack. Grandpa handed her a $5.00 bill to pay for it. She bought the umbrella with her own money. And since she didn't have to spend her money on the back pack she insisted we look at the socks.
Okay then. Another Lori Moment. Do you know how many different styles of socks are in the little girl's sock department????
And here is the picture Neal took as he left for the shop on Saturday morning. Thanks for coming over to play, Melanie.
