Dayton's Play Day

Don was interpreting for a play in Portland and took his family. Dayton got to come and play with us.

He and I took a walk around the block and enjoyed all of the flowers.

He spent a little time watching cartoons and enjoying a bowl of Cheerios.

Then it was time to help Grandpa with painting the wall behind the refrigerator.

Dayton didn't mind the pink playshirt at all which was a bit funny because a couple of days ago even though his shirt was very wet from a spilled soda he flatly refused to wear one of Melanie's shirts.

And, of course, part of painting is the cleanup.

Then there was the hook up of the dustpan.

We laughed so hard when Dayton squeezed himself in front as if to say, "Um, Grandpa, if you'll just skootch back a little, I'll get that for you".

Okay, now let's get some of those tools put away.

Okay, now that it's wired, let's get this piece in place.

Hmmm. I see how this works. If you push this handle, this opens and closes.

There we go. This fits perfectly.

Do you want me to do that for you?

What do you think, Grandpa? Shall we lower that just a little?

What a great time they had together!
