Neal and I received a phone call from Great Grandma asking if we could come for a visit. We were surprised to find her in her robe when we arrived. She said that she had just had a shower. That was very much different from her normal practice of having company.
If you remember our stay at the Pembroke Apartments in Tennessee you will get an idea of what it is like here where Grandma is living. I can say that this place is quite lovely and will send more pictures outside of her room where there is a grand dining room, a 1950's style party room, a game room, a billiards room, a craft room, a spa, many laundry rooms etc.
This is not a "nursing home". Actually, Grandma is living like a rich lady. She has a cook, a cleaning lady, a laundry lady, a
chauffeur, no bills to pay, and many more perks. Although she won't admit openly that she is very happy, one cannot help but notice the many times that she smiles and brags about her newly acquired perks. The following photo was taken as she chatted with Dad about her conversation with Donald which focused on politics.
This is a photo of her bathroom from the door into the bathroom from her bedroom area.

She has everything she needs in her new bathroom on these shelves and some plastic drawers she bought for under her sink.

Granted this isn't as nice as the situation she had with her two bathrooms in her previous home but it is very organized and she likes it.

This is a large walk-in shower. There is an issue of the water pressure being too high (I should have such problems). The water gets onto the tile outside of the shower. Dad is going to check with Morlan Plumbing to see if he can get something that will lower the pressure for her.

Her eyes have healed and she is seeing much better. She hopes to begin using her wonderful sewing machine very soon. She doesn't have another doctor's visit for a month when she hopes that the doctor will do catarac surgery.
See how conveniently the sewing machine fit on this angled wall. She has plenty of big windows to provide her with light.
The windows overlook a gorgeous courtyard. She is on the second level and is able to bypass the spiral staircase and use the elevator.

Dennis used Grandma's funds to purchase this nice new television and a tall dresser for her clothes. He also bought her a toaster oven, an electric fry pan, a cute butterfly shower curtain, and other incidentals that she needed. She brought her kitchen table from the mobile home and it fits snugly at the end of the kitchen counter.
Though she can go to the dining room for all of her meals she likes to take her mornings slow at home. Currently she is enjoying the company of some of the other guests during lunch which is the largest meal of the day and supper which usually consists of soup and sandwiches.
She said the food is good but looks forward to frying up her own pork chops now and then.

Her bedroom area is right behind the living room. It is small to be sure but how much space do you need to sleep? I have been charged to find matching mats and ribbons for our side of the family. Those you see on the left are Dennis' family. He didn't hang any of our family.
The little red dot that you see over the headboard is an emergency call button. There is another in the living room. I think that she likes knowing that there are people very near to help.

You can see how homey this living room feels.

The ceilings are (my guess) 10 to 12 feet high. That gives the space a much more open feeling.

This shot is taken from the front door. I teased her that she must have left a lot of clothing behind because I know that she filled three big closets in the mobile home. She smiled and said that she hadn't left much she just separated her summer clothes from her winter clothes and stored the off season in plastic boxes which were on the floor of the closet.

Just to the left of the front door as you enter is this cute kitchen. It is small but she loves it.

As I hugged her good-bye I said, "Well, I can certainly see why you were so happy when you got word that you had been accepted to live here". Her answer was, "Well, I wouldn't say that I am happy. It will take getting used to". Yeah, but she said that with a smile on her face.
She still plans on coming with us to Texas but until that happens I think that we can all be very thankful for her very nice situation. When I send you the photos of the areas outside of her own room I think you will agree.

I think it's great for now. It has to be nice for her to not have the burden of a whole house and yard to take care of. I hope she doesn't hit a wall one day and scream "Where's all my stuff???" I would. ahahaha I DID!
Thanks for sharing the pictures of Grandma's new place. It looks like a nice place & hope she it is nice for her there until we can all finally get moved to Texas.
