One of the nice things about Sundays these days is that they tend to be completely unpredictable. Between meetings Neal passed by me and said, "Don called and invited us to dinner". I answered over my shoulder as I continued my ASL conversation with Edna, "Great".
We arrived at their home at around 4:30. Greated by these great faces. You can see that Mel's teeth have not come in yet. She is still beautiful.

Emma is at that great age where just about everything is interesting and fun. She is picture perfect as usual.

Little Miss Courtney kept herself busy most of the evening playing with Daddy's new telephone. She is quite proficient at the "helicopter game". Even posing with funny faces she is just too cute for words.

Dad, Don, and Gaylynne visited while the food was being prepared while I got to play with the children. Each one had something they wanted to show me.

Dayton didn't really want to wait for his turn and with that expression he moved right to the front of the line. The girls are all very patient with him.

When Grandpa came back into the room he was tackled. Can you tell that he was very much enjoying all the attention?

Don baked this incredible lasagne. I think that the picture is definitely worth a thousand words. And it would take that many to do the flavor any justice at all.

Don got me excited about baking my own bread again. His was perfect. He said that he had just started making it a little before we arrived. The texture was perfect. The crust was crunchy. And the flavor... well you can just imagine. I saw all of the kids heading for the kitchen for their taste-testing pieces. Especially Dayton. We got samples too. That made waiting for dinner a little bit harder.

Don dished up our plates for us while we all "ooed and awwwed". Gaylynne fixed the vegetables and the broccoli was so sweet Dayton ate plenty of it with his dinner.

After our tummys were full we went to the family room where Courtney played with the telephone and the grownups talked about Andrew, Lori and Matthew. Don said, "That is a good looking baby". And frankly, he should know!

Courtney is wearing the cute necklace that she had made the day before at a Halloween Party. She was pretty proud of it.

Yes, Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. Thata rarely happens. Melanie snapped this photo of her mom which makes it seem that she is, indeed, getting some rest. Photos can be deceiving though. Gaylynne's eyes were closed for only about 30 seconds!

There is always the obligatory photo of Grandma. I've learned to get over myself and just enjoy the moments. (Though to be truthful, I erase most of the photos before anyone else sees them).

At the Halloween Party Gaylynne entered a cake walk. Guess what??? Yep, she won. Dayton got to choose which cake they would take home. Very cute! It was getting late and both Don and Gaylynne had headaches so we took our desser "To Go". Notice the number of bracelets that Melanie is wearing!

Emma and Dayton patiently posed for this photo but they really were excited to get a piece of that spooky cake.

Thank you guys for a wonderful Sunday activity.
