Busy Day !!

Don showed up at a little after nine in the morning on Tuesday. I was delighted to find that he had brought Emma with him. Her brother and sisters were all in school but she was getting to spend the day with her Daddy.

Neal and Don said goodbye and headed out to pick up the granite counter tops and all the stuff they would need to install it.

Neal felt very confident in Don's skills and didn't question him about how to get the granite cut or installed.

Neal and I were supposed to take his Mom to the eye doctor and we were supposed to leave at noon. I had little confidence that counters could be installed in just a couple of hours but said nothing.

Things slowed down when our friend Earl Wiest showed up.

I asked Emma if she would like to accompany me on my daily walk. I grabbed my camera and off we went. She asked if she could take some pictures.

I wrapped the strap around her tiny wrist so that she couldn't accidentally drop the camera.

I have posted only a few of her photos.

They are really nice. She has a good eye.

This she found laying in a garden.

Isn't this cute!

She has lots of photos of flowers I might have Lori frame for the new house.

Isn't this just peaceful?

I had to go to Newberg alone because I didn't want to stop the progress that was being made and didn't want Don to be put in the position of having to be away from his own work on another day.
Anyway, Emma found things to do to keep herself occupied in my absence.
Neal bought lunch for them and Emma munched on some nachos while she watched cartoons on television.
When I got home our kitchen looked like this! It just took my breath away.

When Earl received the photos I sent to him he said, "Now you won't want to move to Texas so you can enjoy your kitchen".
Really, though, it just makes me more excited about moving and designing a big ole kitchen!

Everything went well with Grandma's appointment and she got encouraging news about her eyesight.
Dennis and Jackie will be coming for a visit on Friday and will be able to take her to the doctor's office next Monday.

After dinner on Wednesday (I'm washing dishes in the bathroom sink) Neal began to install the new sink.
There's nothing wrong with my camera. What you see is rock dust. What a colossal mess!!!!!
Though Neal had done a very good job of taping the doorways into the kitchen with plastic sheeting that stuff got into the cupboards, out into the rest of the house and is even covering the counter tops upstairs.

I didn't have to lift a finger to help as he was able to do it all himself.

The nice big sink is in and tomorrow night he will hook it all up. Even at 9:30 p.m. when I took this shot you can still see the rock dust in the air.

You must just be delighted at how it is turning out. It is GORGEOUS!! You should be so proud! I don't envy the dust clean up, though.
