By 10:00 I was at the RS Birthday Party across the street and Emma and Grandpa had gone to the shop to help Don with a vehicle wrap he was working on.
I called them at noon to let them know that I was back home and was told it would be another 1/2 hour at least. That was fine with me because I had some cleaning to do after the "Pizza Night".
About 45 minutes later Neal dropped Emma off but said that he needed about a half hour more at the shop. Emma and I watched cartoons and played on the computer until he came home about an hour later. We gathered our stuff together, except my camera, and headed for Powell's book store. We easily found the book that Courtney had asked for "Ramona, age 8".
We had a lot of fun there trying to park in the antiquated parking lot...you remember. Since there is no elevator we took the stairs and Emma thought that was fun. We watched the Elvis impersonator on the corner as we entered the old store. As usual the huge building was packed with shoppers. You couldn't turn around without bumping into someone. I wish we could have stayed there longer but we had so much on our To Do list.
We went to Target and picked up the cutest stuffed dog that was holding a digital photo frame for Courtney. We stopped for lunch at Best Teriyaki and then to Albertsons where we bought the ingredients for Courtney's birthday dinner.
We finally made it to the Dollar Tree where Emma found a baton and a bottle of bubbles. She was delighted with her purchases. And finally we made it to Great Grandma's house. Grandma had bought Emma a cute little yellow teddy bear which Emma named Fluff.
We visited for a while and then we all went to bed. Emma and her Great Grandma shared a bedroom. We've decided to just leave the trundle bed set up until we are actually ready to sell the house. That way the sleepovers will be easier.
Sunday morning started with Emma giving Great Grandma a big hug and an "I love you". A definite "Pay Day". Dad fixed us all sausages and eggs (well, they're almost eggs. Smile.) He had bought some cinnamon rolls at Albertsons when we were shopping yesterday. We sat in the nook and visited during breakfast. Emma dressed herself and brushed her own hair. Aside from Great Grandma buttoning the back of the dress Emma completely took care of herself. Kudos to Gaylynne!
I went to Primary with Emma because it was my turn to give a 2-minute talk to the children. That was fun. Later she told me that she had had a good time in her class. Though I didn't see Gaylynne or Don until Gospel Doctrine class I know they were there because Melanie told me that she had had a good time in Primary.
We enjoyed Brad's class very much and I had Mom sit right next to Colleen who was interpreting. Mom commented several times what a good teacher Brad was and how much she enjoyed the class.
Gaylynne and Don both gave thoughtful talks on following our Church Leaders. It was so nice to be at church with family again. It's been a long time and I really miss it. After church we all gathered in Dad's office for candy. From little kids to Great Grandma we all took turns with our hands in the candy jar.
