For those of you who have moved away from Portland, we thought that we would remind you of what you left behind. Now, we haven't photographed the many anti-Bush, anti-Religion, anti- everything righteous bumperstickers. Nor have we photographed any of the really cool shops, art, green trees, or river scenes. This was not supposed to be a full-on critique of Portland. Just a couple of things that we thought you'd enjoy.

Now this gem is in the process of being de-papered. Still a lot of work to do. The rain and wind will eventually take care of most of it.
Our weather forecast for this week has been to become increasingly cold which it has. And snow on Friday that won't stick. It was 34 degrees yesterday when I was taking my walk.
It is almost an art piece if you can get past the whole "my-goodness-this-is-so-trashy" feeling that comes with destruction of public property thing.
Hundreds of years from now this thing will still be standing and people will wonder at how we held so many things together with mere staples!

Then the vendors who go around the area will get out their water pressure machines and take it all down to staples.
I wonder if the reason there are no papers on the first photo is because you simply can't get another staple onto the pole!

In Hillsboro the temperature was only 28 so naturally the roads turned to ice. This photo was taken on Sunset as Dad tried to make his way home on Wednesday evening at about 5:30.
This photo was taken in Powell Bookstore while we were on one of our walks on Hawthorne. I swear to you we couldn't find one single book in this store that wasn't left-wing. The only books on politics were anti-everything we believe in.
I did find a couple of cute, no agenda, books for little kids but I could not part with our hard-earned money to support the store.
We left empty handed and shaking our heads in wonder.
And then just when we feel that there is little hope for Portland we are sent a reminder from Heavenly Father that He is watching over us.
No matter how upset our lives become and no matter how much we feel sorry for our situations He is always taking care of our needs.
Just after getting drenched on a jobsite and feeling cold and wet, Dad looked up to see this.
Thank you Heavenly Father.

That was awesome-- I love the photos. I haven't taken my camera with me for over a week... you made me want to get pack to packin' it with me everywhere I go again.
Thanks!
Even though were only a hop, skip, & jump from you -- I do miss being close to everything, but I definetely do not miss all the anti- everything good that Portland proudly boast of.
