SNOW DAY !!!

We heard about it all week. It's going to snow on Sunday! We believed it but still prepared our lessons and talks. I got up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I went downstairs to watch BYU television hoping that would lull me off to sleep.

I peeked outside and there was no snow. At 7:30 Dad came downstairs to check on me and the television program had accomplished its intended purpose, though Dad woke me up! HaHaHa !

I peeked out the upstairs window and just as we suspected... it was beginning to snow.

Dad emailed the Branch members and made a couple of calls...and took a couple of calls letting everyone know that the streets and parking lot for the church were not plowed.

Now what to do. God blessed us with a Snow Day! Watched Music and the Spoken Word. Watched the last of a talk by the artist Leon Parson which was outstanding.

So much time to do good things! Emails to see if everyone is okay. Check. Address Christmas cards. Check.
Call Grandma Coates. Check. BAKE COOKIES !!! And yes, those are COWBOY COOKIES !!! I found the recipe in Grandma's file.

One of our traditions is to read The Mansion at Christmas time. Dad read to me while I put the cookies in the oven.

What to do now. Hmmmmm. Let's see. MAKE CANDY !!!

And it's only 2:00 !!!!

We did the same thing... I made cranberry-orange bread, caramels, peppermint patties and no-bake cookies. Of course, four days later, they're all almost gone!

We're still socked in up here and praying we don't get too much ice. The snow is pretty, but ice takes down power lines. Brrr.
